All in a Days Work
On Sunday, June 5th, AACF participated
in Oak Parks’ annual gala, Day in Our Village, with an
entertaining and instructive sidewalk booth on downtown Lake
Street. AACF staff members and volunteers handed out a CompWord
Puzzle computer quiz, prizes, free gifts, and information about
the free job placement, vocational training and youth services
we offer all unemployed persons, plus free public computer lab
use for the computer knowledgeable during normal business hours.
Charity Chicken
Brown’s Chicken manager, Jack Jasper, donated ten percent of his restaurants’
sales on July 25th
this summer . Mr. Jasper’s franchise, located
at 1500 W. North Avenue in Melrose Park, enjoyed a brisk
business and made a sizable contribution for the upcoming
benefit dinner to be held in order to raise funds needed to
provide operating capital for AACF Youth Programs and the Y-ME
Illinois Affiliate. A very worthy cause, and it
tastes better!
Gala Benefit Dinner
AACF and the Y-ME National Breast Cancer
Organization, Illinois Affiliate, will host their first combined
Benefit Dinner supporting youth education and breast cancer
research. Presentations will be made by Cynthia Duncan, BNY
Midwest Trust Co. vice-president, the Greater St. John Adult
Drama Ministry and AACF Youth participants. For reservations and
