The Fourth Annual AACF Career
Workshop & Luncheon
The event will be held at the Oak Park Conservatory on
February 27, 2007. Employers in attendance will be accepting
applications. Stephanie Tempo will host the four hour event.
Stephanie has over tens years experience in training and
workforce procedural development. Her expertise encompasses
employee relations, labor relations, staffing and employee
development. Ms. Tempo has worked in partnership with both
community development organizations, and the non-public sector.
This event is supported by the Hilton Hotels, White Castle,
IMPROV Comedy Club, Dominicks, Wal-Mart, Caribou Coffee, Jewel
Food and the Corner Bakery.

The purpose of
this event is to reach out to the community and to recruit Crew
Members and Shift Supervisors for the Oak Park store and other
locations. Benefits

AACF is offering a
free computer class to individuals who attend the Career
Fair and Community Event. AACF has served the community since 1985,
providing free employment services and training. The major goals
of AACF are to provide our clients access to job openings and to
existing and new job readiness training programs. Please stop by

Raffle and Silent Auction
Assist
us in our relocation efforts and the continuance of our
successful community services by participating in the First
Annual AACF Raffle and Silent Auction gala. We
are asking for your help due to the required relocation of our
main office. The Downtown Oak Park Sub Area Steering Committee
has proposed redevelopment of the Westgate Professional Building
in which we reside. The area will be rezoned for retail and
residential operations only. We are asking for personal
involvement from you and other business to contribute with a gift item
or monetarily for the upcoming AACF 2006 Raffle and Silent
Auction, to benefit the AACF Facility Fund so we can
continue providing essential services for our Oak Park, Chicago
and neighboring village residents. To make this event a
success we ask for your support by donating items for the
auction and raffle and enjoy yourself by attending, sponsoring
the event, and/or matching funds raised. All donated items must
be new or as new and in the original packaging.
AACF On-site Job Fair Aramark will be recruiting for employees on Monday, February 27th,
2006 at 10:00 am at the AACF Career Center, 1145 Westgate, Suite
100, Oak Park. Aramark is currently looking for dishwashers, cooks,
housekeeping persons, cashiers, banquet servers, floor
technicians and food service workers. Call AACF at 708-848-1700
for more information. Come early, in business attire and with
your resume.
Career Fair The West Cook County Career Fair was held on Wednesday, October 5th, 2005
at the Maywood Race Track in Melrose park. The event was held from 10
am to 5 pm. Job seekers had an opportunity to network with local
employers. The event was well attended by employers and job
seekers alike. One job seeker commented "awesome
job fair that was recently held at Maywood Race Track. The
atmosphere was warm and inviting. The variety employers were
unique. I was able to talk in depth with many of them."
AACF will host an Award Dinner in honor of our
program participants. Presentations and Awards will be given to
selected graduates of our programs. For reservations and
an opportunity to support your western suburban neighbors in
