FAQ

Is Medicare, Medicaid or any other government funding available for these services?

These funding sources could be available based on your individual situation, income and status. Remember, as with all government funding, there are rules and restrictions that you must adhere to. There may also be limitations to the funding amount and the types of services offered.

I have insurance and I'm not sure if it covers home care/home health care services. Will AACF Community Senior Care verify coverage prior to starting service?

Yes. AACF Community Senior Care is very comfortable in dealing with insurance companies. We will check your coverage and let you know the results.

What different services do you offer?

AACF Community Senior Care has a number of services designed to meet your specific needs. We are proud to offer companionship, homemaking, and personal care non-medical home care services.

Can you do short term care?

Yes. We never require you to "need" care for any specific amount of time. Our office can work with you to create a plan of care specific to your individual needs.

How often do I get billed for services?

Billing is done on a weekly basis.

What does my fee cover?

The fee covers your caregiver's wages and all wage taxes.

Is there any additional cost to me?

No, the fee is inclusive. The only additional cost that might occur is mileage when you ask your caregiver to run errands in their vehicle.

Do you accept credit card payments?

Yes. Visa®, MasterCard®, American Express® and Discover® cards are all accepted.

What if I need to speak to someone in the office after business hours?

AACF Community Senior Care office staff is available to help deal with your inquiries and problems 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. When the office is closed, there is a duty on-call person available to help you.

Why would I hire a AACF Community Senior Care caregiver versus a private caregiver?

AACF Community Senior Care would recommend that you do not hire privately unless you are prepared to be an employer of caregivers. The following are just a few of the things you must take into consideration when hiring privately.

  • Once you hire a caregiver privately, you are responsible for all state and federal payroll taxes.
  • You must obtain Workers Compensation Insurance or make sure your private caregiver comes with insurance. If not, you could be responsible for any injuries claimed to have happened while working at your home. How will you pay for any claims of disability if they are filed against you?
  • What happens if the private person doesn’t show up for work? Are you prepared to stay home and take care of your loved one? Or if the care is for you, are you prepared to be left alone without care if the caregiver does not show up?
  • Is the private caregiver bonded against theft?
  • Who will supervise him/her?

There are too many questions and problems when hiring privately. We do not recommend this option at all.

How long will it take to get a caregiver?

Our staff will start recruiting efforts on your behalf as soon as you are set up as a client. We may make a referral immediately or it may take up to 3-5 business days. Our goal is to refer dependable caregivers that will satisfy you and your needs. You can be assured that our staff will be working diligently on your behalf.
